NRA BASIC PISTOL COURSE
MEETS COLORADO CCW REQUIREMENTS

This Course teaches the basic and safe knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely. If you do not own a hand gun, Orion will provide one for the duration of the class. Eyewear and disposable ear plugs are of complimentary use for the course. Ammunition is available for a fee; 25 rounds.
  • Pistol knowledge and Safe Firearms Handling
  • Understanding Revolvers and Semi-Automatic handguns
  • Ammunition: how to select the correct kind as well as the use and storage
  • Pistol Shooting Fundamentals including:
Shooting Stances
Grip
Trigger Control
Sight Picture




ADVANCED PISTOL COURSE
*pre requisite: completion of the basic pistol course

In this course you will learn how to completely break down your pistol into its individual parts so that you will have the working knowledge of how pistols function
  • You will learn advanced cleaning of your pistol
  • You will learn the adjustments of sites
  • you will learn how to engage targets / silhouettes at various distances in different positions.
  • Learn how to safely and effectively draw your pistol from holsters.
  • You will fire many types of ammunition from a pistol and learn about the types.
  • You will spend more range time in this course than the basic pistol course.
  • You will use at least 150-200 rounds of ammunition.




TACTICAL PISTOL COURSE
This course is more physically demanding than the basic and advanced pistol courses and is designed to put the shooter into real world type scenarios and teach them techniques used in hostile environments.
  • Tactical / quick reloads and handling of all malfunctions
  • Recognizing threat / non threat targets during live fire
  • Using concealment to your advantage
  • Shooting from moving vehicles
  • Engaging targets while walking, running and from all positions
  • Team live fire training
  • Room clearing , day/night
  • Use of lights, strobes, lasers, suppressors
This course is taught by us army special operations instructors.




TACTICAL PISTOL, SHOTGUN & RIFLE COURSE
This course is one of our most demanding and incorporates more live fire than most of our classes. You will learn to shoot-move-communicate singally and with a team while employing all three weapons.
  • You will learn entry and breaching techniques using tactical shotguns.
  • You will react to fire and engage targets with the m4 carbine.
  • During this course, you will also get an introduction in using the ak 47 assault rifle.




TACTICAL AK 47 RIFLE  COURSE
Learn to zero and fire the ak 47 in a wide range of scenarios from prone to standing. You will also fire on the run, walking, side to side as well as from a vehicle. This training is invaluable for anyone going to work over seas in any type of security role.
  • You will be taught by instructors who have used this weapon in Iraq, Afghanistan, el Salvador and other combat zones as far back as 1982. This course is also taught by one of the leading experts on the ak in the world and has over 30 years experience with these rifles.
  • You will also learn to assemble and disassemble, properly clean and maintain th AK.
  • Five different models of the ak will be used throughout this course.




VIP / EXECUTIVE PROTECTION  COURSE
This course is taught by psd operators that currently work in this field nationally as well as internationally. You will receive real world training. This course includes:
  • Executive hostage rescue
  • Proper radio and communications use
  • Proper use of all body armor
  • Vehicle operations and convoy protection
  • Use of lethal and non lethal forces
  • Surveillance/counter surveillance
  • Bodyguard walking and vehicle techniques
  • Reaction to threat or ambush , walking/driving
  • How to secure meetings/routes traveled
  • Anti-terrorism – homeland security training
Because of the nature / intent of this course, a background check must be done on each applicant before attending the course. All precautions will be considered to keep the techniques we teach away from those that would do harm to anyone or any one country.




FUGITIVE RECOVERY  COURSE
This course is designed to teach the essentials to all those who are or will be doing fugitive recovery, bail/skip tracing, bounty hunting work. It is also great for all VIP/protection agents and force protection personnel as it adds a skillset that greatly increases safety and effective apprehension of criminals/threat personnel.
Includes:
  • Armed/unarmed fighting offense/defense
  • Confident apprehension
  • Take downs & holds
  • Use of restraints
  • Transporting of criminals
  • Person/vehicle search
  • High risk warrant service
  • Fugitive recovery laws/regulations
  • Working with law enforcement officials
  • Surveillance




TACTICAL MEDIC  COURSE
This course is designed to teach emt/paramedical personnel to react and survive in a high threat/hostile environment. It has a high emphasis on safe and tactical extraction of the patient while under fire or in a high risk situation. This is a physically demanding course and would be advantageous to any medics working abroad in combat/high terror level zones.
